n 1875, the Union Indian Agency launched and built by the United States Government to serve as the Five Civilized Tribes Superintendency. Over the next 90 years, the building that housed the organization was used as a school, an orphanage, a veterans hospital, a dance hall, tea rooms and offices.

After the building was returned to the City of Muskogee in 1954, the Five Civilized Tribes Museum was dedicated on April 16, 1966.

Currently, funds are being sought to build a new national museum for the tribes. This brochure was used to launch a multi-million dollar campaign.
